English Springer Spaniel Cake

WHAT BREED DOG DO YOU NEED MADE INTO A FABULOUS CAKE?

Grandma Herb created this English Springer Spaniel Cake for a special birthday celebration. It was based on the woman's own little girl. 
The cake was French Vanilla and the frosting was all traditional BUTTERCREAM and FUDGE. Grandma never uses fondant, sorry.

Grandma Herb created the faux cover to celebrate Jon's 60th in theater style.

The cake is French Vanilla with a home-style Buttercream Frosting.

Grandma was so excited to make this very special BMW BIRTHDAY CAKE for a gentleman who is nuts for the car!

Grandma had so much fun "kicking off" this young man's birthday party with this SOCCER FIELD CAKE.

FRESH FIG TART

Grandma made this lovely FIG TART for a friend going to a brunch party. The shortbread crust is a favorite of hers. Then again, she loves the Italian Mascarpone Cheese sweetened with Wild Flower Honey and the Black Mission Figs too.

Grandma topped it with crushed Pistachio Nuts for a bit of texture, yum.

GLUTEN FREE STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE

Hello Dearies,

Grandma shares a birthday with a lovely young lady named Violet. For her birthday this year, Grandma whipped up a scrumptious Gluten Free Strawberry Shortcake. Look at the size of those berries! Oh, dear, did that sound naughty? Well, Happy Birthday Violet! Enjoy your day and your treat.

BLIZZARD OF 2010 CAKE

Hello my dears,

Grandma had so much fun making a birthday cake for a group of Winter 2010 Birthday Guests. he theme seemed to fit: "The BLIZZARD OF 2010". Grandma layered Dutch Chocolate and French Vanilla cake, covered by Vanilla Buttercream Frosting. Crystalized White Sugar and Sweet Coconut gave the feel of a snowy terrain, along with a stranded WHITE SUV. Just add the marshmallow snowman and "ta-da".

Fun and Tasty always brings many smiles to the guests.

GAMING CAKE

I had the pleasure of creating a birthday cake for a woman who loves Bridge, Mahjong and Film. Grandma baked a citrus cake (Lemon and Orange layers) covered in all edible Playing Cards, White Chocolate Mahjong Tiles and a Filmstrip with Birthday Wishes.

Grandma had great fun whipping up this ROAD KILL CAKE, (poor little Raccoon) for a White Trash party in NYC. Grannie really didn't run him over, those tire tracks are just tasty frosting.

LIGHT BOARD CAKE

Hello my dears,

Grandma has gone high tech with her sweet LIGHTING BOARD CAKE. This yummy confection was made for the birthday of a young lighting designer, traveling with a dance company. Though it does not plug in, it did light up this boy's special day. Here's what he had to say:

TROPICAL FISH CAKE

Hello my little muffins,

Grandma put on her Calypso Records to get inspired while making this TROPICAL FISH BIRTHDAY CAKE. The birthday girl has an unusual collection of colorful fishies all around her home, including one large fellow who watches her in the shower. Oh My!

The cake was WILD BERRY, a mix of fresh whole Blueberries and pureed Strawberries. The frosting was assorted brightly colored vanilla. YUM!

VIDEO TAPE CAKE

Hello my dears. Grandma had fun making this little dandy of a birthday cake. The birthday boy has quite an extensive collection of Video Cassette Tapes. So Grandma Herb created a Four Stack Video Tape Cake. The black frosting made for a realistic plastic cassette and the rich chocolate cake made it yummy!

FIREMAN'S HELMET CAKE

Hello my dearies, Grandma was lucky enough to make a specialty cake for a young man's graduation. He happens to be a volunteer fireman as well. His graduation cake was a replica of his actual helmet. Lesson learned: Helmets and Cake will keep you happy and safe.

GLUTEN FREE, DAIRY FREE & EGG FREE LEMON CHIFFON PIE

Hello my little dearies. Grandma was asked to create a scrumptious dessert that is Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free & Egg-Free. I almost had to serve them a shoe! But luckily, Grandma was able to whip up a wonderful LEMON CHIFFON PIE. It mimics a traditional Lemon Meringue Pie but is free of all the icky things listed above.
